Stranger Things Have Happened November 14, 2008 If you are in search of entertainment full of both uninhibited sex and heartstopping violence, Sleeping with Strangers is definitely the book for you.
Gideon is a top-notch contract killer as well as a lover that can fulfill any woman's sexual desires.
Some things Gideon has done in his past have caught up with him. The hunter has become the prey so he keeps his weapon of choice close by. He is suspicious of everyone he encounters because in the world he comes from, even your family will turn on you.
Waking with Enemies, the second half of this drama, equally satisfies your taste for lust and danger.
OK............ November 11, 2008 I didn't even finish this book at all. I started this book yesterday got up to page 258 and realized that I wasn't really into it and that I was making myself read on and on. Tell you the truth I was getting lost on who was who so many characters and not knowing what was going on at all times. I have read many of EJD books in the passed. As I was reading this book I questioned myself wondering who is this author kept taking a look to make sure I was reading EJD book because I have noticed the writing wasn't like it used to be in all his other books I have read. The storyline was ok. It was a bit exciting at times. The lovemaking wasn't even love making to me it, it was more of emotionless to me. Gideon was a contract killer that started showing a bit of his sensetive side. There was some suspence going on that did keep me reading a bit at times. Gideon was a ok character but, I don't know if I even want to get the sequels. I say EJD tried his best but, I rather keep reading his old way in writing.
Sleeping with Strangers October 28, 2008 If you enjoy this type of reading, it is truly a must read. Not once but twice, you will not want to put the book down let along finish it :-)
I really enjoy reading this book. I laughed as well as cried at times.
Good Read October 3, 2008 I enjoyed this book, it kept me on the edge of my seat. Can't wait to read the sequel.
Pleasant Surprise!! August 8, 2008 I was told by a friend that this was a good book and I was not disappointed at all. I think that EJD has transitioned to the action-thriller genre flawlessly. I was very impressed by the character development and how he was able to tell multiple stories from the past and present at one time in a very smooth manner.
This book had something for everybody and with the majority of the story being based in Europe there was always an exotic backdrop to the story. I was very impressed and I'm looking forward to the 3rd book in the series because the first 2 were page turners!!
I did not give the book 5 stars for 2 reasons: 1) I was somewhat disappointed when SWS ended and it was "to be continued". If I wasn't able to immediately able to download the next book and read from there I would have felt like I was really left hanging. 2) The second book (Waking With Enemies) was excellent as well (except for the excessive sex-filled chapters), but these two books would have made a great 600-page single book as opposed to 2 very good books with a "to be continued" book followed by a book that has to recap much of what was learned from the first book. If they were two separate stories, then its always fun to follow a good character. Considering it was one story, it could have been sewn up in one book.
Anyway - great job EJD - very impressive. Gideon is the man!!
