Product Description One of Elloras Caves most popular authors lives up to her promise with her Sensation debut.
Dedicated artist Evie Washington isnt the marrying kind. But when she admitted that her faceless portrait of a naked man was modeled on the devilishly handsome Reverend Brad Swanson, her family vowed to save her reputationeven if it meant taking away her hard-won freedom. Promises Reveal December 2, 2008 Evie Washington might have more spunk than her small town can handle, but she might be just right for Reverend Brad Swanson. Causing another scandal, Evie may be forced to marry the reverend to save both of their reputations- something neither wants. Evie isn't the only one with problems though. Brad's hiding a secret. One he's sure will drive Evie away from him, so he's keeping her at arms length. Brad's finding it difficult to keep his heart from Evie though. She fits him like a glove. When his past comes back to haunt him, he may lose Evie, whether he wants to or not.
Fans of Sarah McCarty's Promises series will love Promises Reveal. We finally get the scoop on the Rev! And Asa, Clint, Cougar, and their wonderful wives play big roles in the story as well. Brad is calm, cool, and collected, all the time. The one word used to describe Evie over and over is unconventional, and she is. She's stubborn and smart, opinionated and sassy, and she's unique for her time. She's a great character. Some action, some angst, some romance, and some very hot sex fill the pages of Promises Reveal. It's full of hot memorable moments. Like when Brad takes his bride to the church for some sinfully good discipline. Promises Reveal tells a good story while revealing a bit about another one. I am dying to read about Gray and Brenna!

Not much steam for the Queen of steamy November 30, 2008 I am a big fan of the Promises series, but this was disappointing. This book was less developed and had much less erotica. I guess the new publisher cut the steam. I will read the next in the series in hopes that that the next goes back to her regular steamy and well developed stories.
3 1/2 Stars...Just Doesn't Compare to Sarah's Usual November 5, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Sensuality Rating: 5 Evie Washington is the willful daughter whose father is determined to find a way to set her on the straight and narrow. When Evie draws a nude portrait of the preacher, he sees his chance and forces them into a shotgun wedding. Reverend Brad isn't exactly unwilling, but he is somewhat mortified. Evie, not knowing what the male anatomy looked like, substituted the 'appendages' of a male infant in the portrait.
Not knowing Rev. Brad Swanson is really an outlaw, most of the town has a great respect for him. And if anyone can bring Evie up to the town's moral standards, they feel, the Reverend can. The scandal is mostly forgiven after the wedding.
Just when Evie and the Reverend are falling in love with each other, his past catches up with him. Having done so much good for the community, the townspeople rally to his side.
This book had so much potential! I expected there would be a decent amount of humor in regards to the painting with the infantile anatomy. However, it wasn't even given all that much notice in the story. The characters weren't all that likeable until the last quarter of the book. The entire plot ended up to be rather thin. Even the sensual scenes left alot to be desired. All the elements of a superb novel were there, it just never really fleshed out. Perhaps I was expecting another "Caine's Reckoning."
Pretty good - I'm glad I read it October 21, 2008 I enjoyed the whole series and although this was not as great as the first three; I wouldn't have missed reading it. I'm hoping for more! The only real complaint I have is that the book was a small sized book (trade size I believe) unlike the other three which were larger. It doesn't match the first three and looks funny on my bookshelf! Oh well. Thanks for a very good series Dear Authoress. I have enjoyed them immensely.
The Best "Promises" Book Yet October 19, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I loved this book! I have read all of the "Promises" series but this was absolutely my favorite. I have been hoping to see the Rev's story for quite some time and this book did not disappoint. The characters in this book were wonderfully developed. Some of the dialogue was laugh out loud funny. However, as others have mentioned this is published with a different publishing house than the others in the series and the sex is less graphic. If you are reading it for the story it won't hurt it a bit... however if your main focus was the erotica you might find it lacking. I wouldn't have changed a thing about the book, less graphic or not, it was amazing.
