Product Description
Conception By Sarah McCarty An unwilling victim of an experiment gone wrong, mother to a child who shouldn't exist, Eden Lavery knows only one person strong enough to stand between the Coalition's fanatical quest for immortality and their threat to her daughterDusan Knight. Six-foot-three-inches of solid muscle, Deuce wears his power with the easy confidence that comes from six centuries of commanding the Chosen, the inspiration for vampire lore. But Deuce isn't just a source of legend. He's the man she loves. The man she had ultimately betrayed. From the moment Eden reenters his life, holding the miracle of a Chosen child in her arms, Deuce burns with the need to complete their joining. Everything about Eden, from her sassy sense of humor to her delectably stacked body, was made for him. But some things are easier decided than done. Amidst a race for survival, against an enemy that cannot be destroyed for fear of extinction, Deuce must fight for the future of his people, and to convince Eden the passion between them is more than illusion. She is his Chosen mate and nothingnot her fears, the Coalition, nor death itselfwill take her away from him.

5 out of 5 stars Conception   February 27, 2008
Dusan Knight is a Chosen, a breed of vampire. Every Chosen has but one mate, and Dusan's mate is Eden Lavery, a human. Tragically, Dusan thought Eden was dead, and they were separated for a year. During that time Eden has been subjected to experiments and torture at the hands of the Coalition. The Coalition has a desperate desire to discover the secret of the Chosen's immortality. Eden escapes the clutches of the enemy and heads directly for Dusan, hoping that he can protect their child from the hands of their adversaries.

Once near her again, Dusan struggles with the overwhelming need to bond with Eden, but she fights the mating for fear of exposing Dusan and their baby to the Coalition. Their child holds the hope of the future for the Chosen race, and Dusan will stop at nothing to protect both his child and his mate. Dusan will need to use everything within his power, as well as the help of his brother and fellow Others to save them.

I thoroughly enjoyed Conception and found the story fascinating. Dusan's concern and desire for his mate is all-consuming, Eden and their child his sole focus. Eden is endearing in her attempts to protect both her baby and Dusan, even willing to forsake herself, if necessary. The joining of Eden and Dusan is highly erotic, and deeply romantic. Conception is a very intense, complex, and arousing book. Moments of tenderness, drama, action, and passion all combine to make it impossible to put Conception down. The secondary characters are also intriguing. As with all of her books, Sarah McCarty's love scenes are more than just sex, they are an experience in love making. I felt sated and exhausted after reading Conception. I very much recommend this book, and look forward to the rest of the Others series.

5 out of 5 stars Awesome!!!   February 11, 2008
This is an awesome book! You can't go wrong with a Sarah McCarty book! I have never had one of her books that I didn't read over and over. This book is different. I read alot and I haven't read another one with this spin yet. Dusan is her knight and shining Chosen(vampire). She lives in a house full of shifters that have their own problems. All Eden wants is to do is escape and kill the madman(her grandfather)who wants to test her and her baby to death! This is a very touching, emotional book. I wish she'd write more in this series but as of now this is the only one in this series. Give it a try you'll love it!!!

5 out of 5 stars Sarah McCarty does Paranormal majestic   January 1, 2008

I LOVED this book. Sarah McCarty's books are always good. But this was so surprising to me. A paranormal that grabbed me from the very beginning. I was spellbound. I am late reading it. I can tell that the story was meant to continue as if a in a series. The secondary characters could have a great story in a follow up book.
But this book main characters Eden and Deuce are a great Love story that keeps going until the very end. She wants to save him and her child. He wants to save them. And he is so very ALPHA.
The love making between these two are HOT. And lengthy...
Do enjoy this book!!

5 out of 5 stars I loved this book!!!   April 10, 2007

This book has wonderfully compelling main characters and secondary characters that you root for. This is no shallow romanace, the trials and emotions of the main characters feel real from page one and I could not put this book down till I finished it!!! The author's idea of vampires/Chosen is unique and refreshing - not just the same old vampire lore recycled in other books. Being Ellora's Cave it does have steamy/hot sex too. This book has EVERYTHING! A must read for anyone wanted deeper, real emotions in a romance novel! I can not wait for the next one in the series!!!

2 out of 5 stars Disappointing   December 29, 2006

I was quite excited when I first started reading this book, I thought I'd come across an author as good as JR Ward - how wrong I was. After the first few good pages the main couple start having sex and that's it. No story, just sex. The sex wasn't that hot, there was no tenderness between the couple and without a good story became boring. And, the ring was just yuck. Books like these are 10 a penny, I was gutted because there was the promise of a really good book in the first chapter. If you want a good read try JR Ward or Sandy Blair or Julie Garwood or Sherrilyn Kenyon.
