 Kept the BDB addiction going November 22, 2008
Although I would have preferred to get another installment of the BDB books, this is also a nice placeholder while we are impatiently wait for the next books. Ward's writing style makes the characters like part of your family and this book adds so much to our imaginations. There were pieces from the books that had gone unanswered and that needed more fleshing out, and she definitely delivers with the Guide. Its a great way to respect her readers and make us all more even more loyal!

I am in the process of reading this guide right now and am really enjoying hearing how she developed each of the books, and the brothers. With all of the information that is supplied in this book, I think the most excited piece was learning that J.R. Ward originally authored books under the name of Jessica Bird. I just can't wait to see how her writing style has changed over the years.

This book has tons of background material on all the previous books. Lots of conversations with the Brothers. It is a great reference guide for when you want to re-read or when you are reading future books. It also has some stuff that is posted on her website but its nice to have it all in one place. It's a fairly large book. Definitely a worthy buy if you are a fan of J.R. Ward. and the Brothers.

This is a great book to read if you are familiar with the brothers. Ward has made this book not only interesting but a lot of fun to read too. You feel like you are actually there with the brothers. Definitely a book to add to your collection.
Wonderful insight November 18, 2008
I truly enjoyed reading this. J.R. Ward shared her motivation, insight and love of the characters she created in the Black Dagger Brother series, and she did this is a very interesting and satisfying way.
The short story about Zsadist and Bella was so sweet I read it twice. I truly enjoy the interviews with the brothers--and the one were the brothers interviewed J.R. Was a hoot.
I would recommend a reader read all the books--at least up to Phury--before dipping into this one...mainly because it is littered with spoilers--but even worse than that would be the lack of appreciation that I think a reader would feel if they were not familiar with the brothers through the stories.
