Product Description Vigilant crewmember Sandy D'abu stays behind on Doradus station to mind the crew's new secure cargo business while the rest of the guys take the spaceship out on a run. There isn't a lot for him to do, so he spends his evenings at Durty Nelly's, keeping an eye on bartender Alex, a former pleasure slave a few of his crewmates feel responsible for. When the man who made Alex's a pleasure slave back on Earth suddenly turns up as part-owner of the sex club, Sandy agrees to help Alex out by pretending to be his boyfriend. After all, what are a few kisses among friends? The problem is that Sandy doesn't want to pretend; he's already in love with Alex. Alex is still skittish about being touched at all by anyone, let alone kissed by the huge ex-soldier, and if that wasn't enough, there are plenty of bad guys in both Sandy and Alex's pasts back on earth who have escaped to Doradus station too, and they all want a piece of the action. Will Sandy and Alex be able to put the past, and the men who want to hurt them, behind them to find a future together? Find out in this passionate sequel to Off World.

The author delivers a second time June 15, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
While I prefer the main characters in the first book in this series, it's strictly a matter of liking my tops to be big and brawny and my bottoms to be lithe and agile.
D'Abu and Alex are great characters and aside from the roles they take in bed I enjoyed everything about their budding romance. Unlike the characters in the first book Alex has much bigger hurdles to overcome on the way to love or even just trust, but I found myself rooting him on all the way. The progression was natural and not too fast or too slow.
I really like this world created by Ms. Vaughn and I hope the author returns to it again and again.
Wonderful sequel! November 4, 2007 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I loved this sequel to Off World. I've become a fan of Stephanie Vaughan's sexy sci-fi series starting with Off World which tells Cal and Sarhaan's story. However, OW2 can definitely be read stand alone, though truthfully, it was the character development and engulfing eroticism between the heroes in the first book that made me read OW2 and has left me begging and panting for a third one. I love Vaughan's writing style - crisp and lively, her descriptions of the delicious men loving each other and the heartfelt romance that develops between them have all got me hooked! There are many, many erotic m/m books out there now and so I've become highly selective - Stephanie Vaughan is one writer I enjoy reading so much because I know I'll get a thoroughly satisfying read.
A sequel which excels its predecessor. August 31, 2007 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Unlike the prequel, Off World 2 focuses less on mysteries and intrigues and more on romance and relationship, this time between Sandy D'Abu and Alex Valentine. To get the most out of the characters and the world Vaughan has created, it is recommended to read the prequel first. Both Sandy and Alex are appealing and well flushed out characters. Alex is one tortured soul as he bravely tries to make a decent living having survived years as a pleasure slave, which left him broken and afraid of intimacy. Fortunately he has Sandy to look out for him. Sandy may be a tough alpha soldier, powerful and dominating in physique, but when it comes to Alex, he is one gentle soul as he patiently nurtures and loves Alex. There is also a revelation on Sandy's sexual preference which I find is a tender side of this big mountain of a man. Theirs is a touching love story, with emotionally tense and stirring moments when Alex reverts to his old self, trying desperately to please. The title Sanctuary is most fitting as Alex finds just that. There is a solid plot here as ghosts from Alex's and the Vigilant crew's pasts returned to haunt them. I hope there is more to come as I would love to read one Kai Xuwicha finding his soul mate.
