Product Description When a stalker ratchets up his attempts to get to her, cable sex talk show host Morgan O'Malley turns to Jack Cole-a self-proclaimed dominant- for help. Though Jack is a bodyguard, Morgan feels anything but safe in his presence. Because slowly and seductively, Jack is bringing her deepest fantasies to the surface. And when he bends her to his will, what's more shocking than her surrender is how much she enjoys it and how she starts to crave his masterful touch. A willing player in Jack's games, Morgan knows that his motives aren't pure. But she has no idea how personal they are.

This book has a lot of bondage/submission sex within the backdrop of a good story. September 3, 2008 0 out of 2 found this review helpful
This book has many long drawn out sex scenes with bondage, domination, submission, rear door activity, menage a trios (2 guys and a girl), and a lot of sex toys. I like this author's writing style. Before the sex scenes started, I was very drawn into the story and enjoyed it. The characters are good. The plot is good, but I wanted more of it. I wanted more story and less sex. The only other weakness was at times there was a little too much pondering in the minds of the characters before and/or during sex.
Story brief: Morgan and Brandon share the same father but different mothers. The father is a senator and paid a large settlement to Morgan's mother to keep Morgan's parentage a secret. Morgan has a stalker. She went to stay with Brandon for awhile to flee the stalker. Since no one knew they were related, they told others they were engaged. Brandon once had an affair with Jack's wife, causing her to leave Jack. Jack wants revenge and arranges to meet Morgan. His plan is to hurt Brandon by having sex with Morgan, his supposed fiance. The stalker shoots at Morgan while she is meeting Jack. As a result, Jack takes her to his home for awhile for her safety. During this time they have sex. He talks her into trying submission.
Sexual language: strong/erotic. Number of sex scenes: seventeen, most of them several pages long. Setting: current day Lafayette, Louisiana and nearby swamp area. Copyright: 2007. Genre: erotic contemporary romance with some suspense.
A masterful story!! August 25, 2008 This is my first Shayla Black book and I absolutely loved it. Her book, Wicked Ties was absolutely delicious!
Morgan O'Malley is being stalked by a dangerous and increasingly aggressive stalker. In steps Jack Cole as her bodyguard, an equally dangerous and an extremely aggressive sexual dominant who fires all of Morgan's hidden desires. After an attempt on Morgan's life Jack hides her in his cabin in the bayou of Louisiana, and sets about stripping her of all her protective layers until he finds the perfect submissive underneath. Slowly he breaks her down, making her crave him, just as much as he's craving her. While he helps her with her repressed sexuality, she also helps to heal him with his own issues and past betrayals.
Jack Cole is one irresistible dominant. He comes on hard, fast and aggressive with Morgan. He takes one look at her and just knows there is a wicked, wanton submissive inside her just dying to come out and play. He is as subtle as a Mack truck when it comes to getting what he wants and what he wants is Morgan, submitting to him. He's a firm master and he establishes that right away, but he is also very sensitive to her needs. He treats her with care, but due to his nature he's relentless. At times his bullheadedness in getting Morgan to accept her hidden, repressed sexuality was too much. For a moment I was like, "Enough already! Leave the girl alone!" Fortunately, once they get past it then it's quite a fun ride! The sex in Wicked Ties is very hot with a lot of emphasis on D/s. Jack pulls out all the toys for Morgan, velvet rope, vibrators, and his infamous playroom. There is also one hot menage scene that will leave you gasping.
While the sex and the toys is as hot as one can get, the most important thing Jack attacks is Morgan's mind. His voice is the thing that guides her during one of their sessions and it's extremely erotic. He's in her mind as much as he's in her body and it's what urges her on. Also, his French Cajun voice is incredibly sexy.
I highly recommend this book for anyone whose looking for strong emphasis on a D/s relationship or anyone struggling with repressed sexuality. How Jack slowly heals Morgan into honoring herself and her desires was very touching.
Surprisibgly delicious. August 19, 2008 This was the first book I read of Shayla Black. And I am hooked. It's a nice blend of suspense and erotica. The characters were great. Great story line. I finished it within hours, I couldn't put it down.
What Am I Missing?????? August 18, 2008 3 out of 4 found this review helpful
I have to admit that I purchased the book based on some of the reviews. Sometimes that work, this time it most definitely didn't. Morgan has gotten on my last nerve. Women who know what they need/want but let others dictate their happiness, tick me off. If the life style wasn't something she was interested in, she should've say NO (and meant IT). I'm sure Jack would not force himself on her (he gave her a safe word that would've put a halt to it all). He gave her plenty of opportunites to refuse what he was offering, but she kept saying no, all the while opening her legs wider. What kind of crap is that?
I put it aside to read an something enjoyable after reading more that half the book with the same things happening over and over. Maybe I'll go back to it if I have absoultely nothing else to read available late night, but I seriously doubt it. The "STEAMY" level is barely tap. On a scale of one to 10, this book is a definite 1 on the steamy scale.
Wicked Ties by Shayla Black June 16, 2008 Reading the blurb on Wicked Ties wouldn't tell you the truth of what lies within. Shayla Black has crafted two amazing characters with Morgan and Jack. The connection between the two is intense and combined with Shayla's passionate writing style the reader easily connects with both Morgan and Jack.
Wicked Ties immediately thrusts the reader into the action, leaving the back-story to be revealed as the book progresses. However this book is not rushed, Shayla develops and intimate connection between Morgan and Jack with drawn out sensuality that makes you almost want to pant.
At the core of this book is the sexual journey Jack takes Morgan through. Morgan is a hesitant participant, often conflicted by her body's desires and her mental barriers. It is a joy to read a character that is so honest, but develops and doesn't tire a reader out with the redundancy of their emotional angst.
This book is beautifully written and a must reader for all lovers of erotic romance.
