5 out of 5 stars Beautiful   September 1, 2007
I got this wedding planner for my newly engaged sister and we couldn't have been more thrilled with it! It is a beautiful binder, with helpful pages thoughout. The section of flowers alone is worth it. With the beautiful pictures and detailed list of types of flowers, you can go to your florist knowing more than just the colors you want, you will actually be educated about flower design. There are numerous worksheets (you may need to make copies of some of them for larger weddings), and great tips on almost every page. All sizes and styles of weddings will benefit from this wonderful planner. Perfect for the elegant or super organized bride.

5 out of 5 stars The Only Wedding Planner   August 15, 2007

This was the third (and most complete) wedding planner I bought...

I bought Emily Post's Wedding Planner, which has a bit of helpful etiquette and tradition and some useful forms.
I also bought, and returned, The Knot's Ultimate Wedding Planner, which was a grave disappointment.
I ALSO bought a small 3-ring binder for sketches and clippings.

Martha Stewart's planner has it all.
It is the most concise, complete, helpful and beautiful.
What sets this planner apart is the format: it's a 1-1/2 inch 3-ring binder, which fits letter-sized paper!
It provides convention, tradition, etiquette, forms, and I can add all of my sketches and vendor documents.
The design concept is quintessential understated elegance - a celadon green satiny exterior with a matching cloth "binding."
It's large enough - plenty of room for copies of pages (get used to making copies for the contacts and guest list).
It comes with 2 zip-lock letter sized pockets, a sheet of business card pockets, and six one-sided paper pockets.
It has quite a bit of helpful information regarding invitation, seating, and procession conventions, with illustrations and diagrams.
The photographs are plenty and supplementary - never overdone or simply to look nice.
Speaking of pretty pictures, Martha Stewart's wedding planner is a great "companion," as the editors put it, to her Best of Weddings book.
Between the two I honestly do not feel the need for any bridal magazines.
I do wish I would have purchased this planner first, as I am not using the Emily Post planner anymore!
You will be impressed and relieved with both the quality and the quantity this essential resource embodies and encompasses.

I recommend:
Martha Stewart's Keepsake Wedding Planner - Great for solidifying ideas.
The Best of Martha Stewart Living Weddings - Great for ideas!
Emily Post's Wedding Etiquette - A MUST for anyone getting married, part of a wedding, or invited to a wedding.
The Knot Guide to Wedding Vows and Traditions - Surprisingly insightful.

5 out of 5 stars What a binder   July 26, 2007
I was impressed by what I got. This planner keeps me organized. This is good tool for planning and a nice keepsake.

4 out of 5 stars cheap binder   June 4, 2007
Overall, I like the content of this planner. I have found it to be very helpful thus far.

I'm not exactly clear on what some of the other reviewers think that it's missing. I would agree that the "photocopy as many worksheets as you may need" was a bit of a let down. I didn't really expect it to have perhaps as many "ideas" as other brides were hoping for, as I saw it more as a place simply to put all of you contracts/notes/etc. I think if you're looking for ideas, you're best bet would be the magazine rack... or I would highly recommend Michelle Rago's book:
Signature Weddings: Creating a Day Uniquely Your Own

The only complaint I have about this planner is the binder: It is not very well enforced. After only a few of months of light use, it already began looking like something you'd think I'd been toting around a high school to ten different classes everyday. However, it's elegant design isn't overdone or tacky like so many of the other options out there.
