| Customer Reviews:
I expected much more than I got. March 4, 1999 Just because the book is thick and has a lot of pages, it doesn't mean it is filled with totally useful information. I'd return the book if I could because all the information in it is on the site. I guess I was disappointed because I expected a heck of a lot more than I got. Beware all the hype.
I don't get all the hype of this book February 22, 1999 It was a decent resource, but anyone who has done any planning and research will find this book has the same material that you have already found. It was a good book, but I don't think it is as great as everyone thinks it is. You have to be a pretty naive bride to think this is all that.
Dump all those corny bridal mags -- this book is *real*! February 2, 1999 8 out of 8 found this review helpful
I just got this book (after getting engaged on New Year's Eve!) and I can't put it down -- I feel like I am all set to start planning our wedding, armed in advance with everything I need to know. I've used the knot.com website in the past, and I love the tool where you can see all the wedding gowns, and everything, so I thought I'd buy the book as well. I'm glad I did!But most of all, it's refreshing to read a book that strips all the snobbiness out of this whole wedding thing. I mean, we are real people with real issues, and this book acknowledges that. I have problems with my future in-laws -- they are driving me crazy already! And our guest list is climbing out of control. At least I could open my Knot book and get down-to-earth advice on how to deal with all this and still be excited about my wedding. I got specific ideas on how to involve my cultural background into our wedding, and ways to keep our budget in control. Thanks to The Knot!
No need to look anywhere else . . . January 30, 1999 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
This is an amazingly easy to use planning book. I applaudCarley for addressing the real world issues that you are faced with when planning a wedding. I love the profiles of real couples. Finally what impressed me the most was how the book is so different from the web site. I use the web site every week and the book is just as valuable but in an entirely different way. I recommend this book to anyone who is looking for practical and usable advice. Great cost saving tips too.
why didn't I have this book?!? January 29, 1999 I was looking for a book to give my best friend who just got engaged, and I was intrigued by this title that hadn't been around 2 years ago when I was planning. I had used The Knot's website, but didn't know they had a book! I wish I had been given such a great guide! From Day 1 of my engagement, I was asking all the questions that The Knot answers starting on page 1 of their book -- I'm just glad that my friend will benefit from such hip wedding gurus!
