it's good~ November 16, 2008 The product is sent to me within 1 week. And it is just as described by the seller.
paradoxical November 3, 2008 I had a few issues when I used this book:
to me, the chapters didn't flow into each other in an efficient manner, it felt too fragmented and "disconnected".
Also, many of the exercises are far more difficult than what the chapters let on: so you may understand a chapter really well but then when you try to do the exercises you get stuck because you are confronted with stuff that the chapter did present.
I also really did not like the presentation of this book, it is almost like a children's book, all that's missing are some pop-up figures for when you open the book. That may sound harsh, but I felt more like a high school student working with this book than a 3rd year uni student. It lacks a professional feel to it.
In summary: this book was paradoxical to me, simple yet confusing at the same time.
It may come down to a question of taste, but I found both Blanchard's book Macroeconomics (5th Edition) and Dornbusch's book Macroeconomics to have a better "flow".
If you plan to continue with more advanced studies, like Romer's book Advanced Macroeconomics, I think that Dornbusch and Blanchard gives you a stronger preparation.
Acceptable, but rudimentary September 21, 2008 Book only slightly expanded on an intro book. If you have had any sort of math beyond calculus, you will be irritated with how Mankiw dances around the subject and tries to dumb the book down for those without mathematical preperation. This book is suitable for an intermediate class that doesn't have calc as a pre-req. Otherwise you will be frustrated as Mankiw confuses you with non-technical language when mathematical notation would be simple and precise.

arrived early. came in a very thin cardboard armor. small bend in the corner of the hardcover's cover, but aside from that all perfectly new. if seller included another layer of protection aside from the corrugated cardboard, it would have been perfect.
