Helpful for household finances October 4, 2008 Ron Blue grew up in my hometown, where his dad was the mayor for years. I've used this book to manage my household bills and save money, and it works. Blue uses Biblical references and principles throughout. Buy the workbook that goes with it. Honestly, follow his advice and you will be able to manage your day to day household finances. It worked for me.
Clear, Helpful, Practical...a definite keeper! April 24, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Ron Blue's book, Master Your Money was a life changing book for me while in graduate school. While working at my studies I needed a grounding in financial insights since we were struggling grad students but still had to make future plans for our family's finances. Ron's book answered so many basics and I was so impressed with it that we asked him to write an essay for us at USChurch.Info - America's Church Address. It has proven to be one of our most popular essays we provide online to individuals and families wanting to successfully integrate into a new church. In fact, we use his new edition as an incentive for Churches to update their Church data in our directory. It has proven very popular for Church libraries.
FreedomFromDebt February 26, 2008 This is a great book to get started. We bought and read it over a year ago. We have paid off much debt and on our way to pay off our house(the last of it), thanks to information in this book. We've followed most of the steps Ron has suggested and love the freedom and security that it has provided us!
Worth the money! February 22, 2008 I'm only into the 6th chapter of Master Your Money, but what I have read so far is great! He presents easily learned principles and gives memorable content.
One such principle is worth the price of the book: the longer term your perspective, the better your financial decision. This principle can be stated without the word "financial" and it is just as true: the longer term your perspective, the better your decision.
Buy this book: it is an easy read, with logical organization not only from chapter to chapter, but within each chapter. Why didn't I read this before?
Nothing new June 27, 2006 0 out of 10 found this review helpful
I didn't really gain anything from this book. Maybe because I read other books on financial planning already. The charts are boring and confusing. The one star is for the chapter on estate planning. That is the largest and most useful chapter in the book. If you're interested in this, then you should read this book, but for one chapter...eh, get it from the library.
