Buff Brides is THE BEST May 8, 2003 11 out of 12 found this review helpful
The results this book gives are unbelievable. It's very simple, not time consuming, and really keeps you on track. I would recommend it to anyone, bride or not! I lost 8 pounds unintentionally from doing the Buff Brides workout--it's that good. If you want a pre-wedding workout guide, this book is absolutely the answer.
Easy to follow! January 7, 2003 7 out of 10 found this review helpful
Easy to follow, esp. if you do not like weight training. Never been a big fan, always prefered cardio, but this is great
Buff Bride Kicks! December 6, 2002 10 out of 10 found this review helpful
I have tried a variety of workout programs in the past but I have never found one like Sue Flemings! Her program give structure, motivation and results. Sue gives awesome words of encouragement. Sue includes brides of all sizes and excersise experience in her program. She doesn't push dieting or over-exhasting yourself! She focuses on working with what God gave you. She even gives suggestions of bridal dress styles for each body type! The detailed instructions and awesome pictures prevents discouragment or failure. The program is broken down in to two week intervals so you can concentrate on the week that you are in. Each time I start a new week I feel successful. Currently, I am about to start week 8. The bi-weekly layouts contain pre-planned workouts for three days of each week. The flexiblity of the workout is perfect for at home or at the gym. I encourage every bride, bridesmaid or mother of the bride to try the Buff Bride workout!
Buy this book!! September 11, 2002 10 out of 10 found this review helpful
Buff Brides is an incredible book! I used it for four and a half months prior to my wedding and lost 17 pounds. I've been on so many exercise programs and tried everything, and I've never had these kinds of results so quickly before. As long as you stick with her program you will definitely look fabulous for your wedding day. If I had to give future brides one piece of advice, I would honestly tell them to buy this book. I went from flabby and insecure to toned, slim and confident as early as 2 months into the program, and looked great on my wedding day. I can't praise this book enough!!
generally a good book, but lacking important information May 28, 2002 2 out of 5 found this review helpful
I just started Week 6 of this program and have mixed feelings about it. I am excited to see that I'm gaining muscle definition, but I'm also getting "bigger". My clothes are even getting a little tighter! This is not what I was hoping for.I'm not sure if this is supposed to happen or not, since Sue Fleming does not provide any information in the book about what to expect..... I'm continuing on with the program in hopes that my metabolism is accelerating as a result of the extra muscle... and that it will just be a matter of time before I lose the layer of fat on top of the muscle. I've done other workout programs with weights in the past so I know that the techniques and advice contained in this book are sound. I'm just not sure what I'm doing wrong, if anything. My goal is to lose 5 lbs. and tone up. At this point, I'm toning up but I'm not losing the weight. I'm gaining! It's very bewildering. The wedding's in 5 months so I'm not going to panic yet. ;)
