"Exposed" is hilarious, entertaining, AND relatable! June 18, 2008 If you are married, engaged, or solely curious about the madness that accompanies weddings, "Exposed" is a book that should not be overlooked. Whether you were the terrorized bridesmaid, the regretful bridezilla, or the overworked wedding planner...whether you were the graceful bride, the smitten groom, or the hungover groomsman, this book will tell your story. Claire Lewis takes you into the world of weddings and allows you to be a fly on the wall from the moment she meets each client to the moment they say "I do". She has an ability to transport you into each story where you vividly experience each wedding as it unfolds. This account of the business and the fairytale of weddings is refreshingly entertaining and highly recommended.
Exposed: Confessions of a Wedding Photographer: A Memoir
Wonderful Book June 18, 2008 Claire is not only a wonderful photographer but her book is amazing. I loved reading this book. It is such a great book about the ups and downs that happen with weddings. This is a great gift for someone getting married.
Laugh out loud! June 15, 2008 This book really reflects those little idiosycrasies that we all have and we laugh about..I was sitting around the pool with a bunch of friends reading little paragraphs out loud and everyone started commenting about their own weddings and the many weddings we all have been to and participated in and it's really amazing that when you look back on your wedding day how you wonder what was my photographer thinking? I only hope that he had a few laughs of his own, because I am laughing just thinking about it. This book has some great quotes by Claire's mother and how she proceeded to live her live to the fullest and not to miss out on any one thing..I find myself laughing out loud at times reading this, and she paints a great picture without ever having been there..so bravo to you Claire..Great read!
Not just a chick book June 14, 2008 Yesterday I met a young couple who were planning to get married in two weeks and I just knew I had to suggest that they buy a copy of this book! Exposed is a fast and funny read but also makes you stop and think about all the crazy wedding scenes you remember from your own past experiences. Enjoy the book. I did.
"Exposed !" paints a beautiful picture with the written word June 14, 2008 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
After hearing Claire Lewis interviewed on NPR, I (a budding film photographer) couldn't wait to order "Exposed!", Confessions of a Wedding Photographer. My wife (the best photographer I know)got ahold of the book before I did, and, as I had hoped, absoulutely loved it. She would giggle, laugh and cry,and I would continuously ask "what?...what?", until finally, I got to read the book as well. I would be hard pressed to think that anyone in the world hasn't at least attended a wedding, and even if you haven't, this is a fabulous read. Being acquainted with film and the darkroom, and how much work (but great fun!) it is, made me enjoy it that much more. I love the book like I loved my favorite books ever...those by James Herriot (All Creatures Great and Small, etc.). Claire Lewis has the ability to tell a great story. I highly reccomend this book, as there is something for everyone. You won't regret it!!!
