Passed it on to another. December 30, 2008 I bought this planner when I first got engaged. I thought it was something neat, and maybe out of the ordinary. I was slightly disappointed in the fact it really doesn't give you an idea of what you're getting into. As for planning, it has some cute ideas, but when it comes down to it, it just doesn't cut it. It's definitely worth reading, but as for a planner, definitely a not the best. I gave mine to a friend who found the same who gave it to another and so on. We all agree, Good read, not a good planner.
A must for the frugal bride! August 3, 2008 This book was AMAZING and a life saver. It's organized for quick access to all the information I needed and I carried this book with me everywhere. The section in the back for business cards was extremely helpful and the pockets at the beginning of each section was perfect for color swatches and notes. Flipping through each section helped me remember key things I wanted to include in my wedding.
My wedding was small (60 guests) and on a small budget, so this book was the inspiration for creative cost cutting ideas and suggestions. If you are planning a larger wedding, you may need an additional, more detailed planner, but for a small wedding, this was all I needed. I brought my planner with me to each store and meeting with vendors and received numerous compliments on how organized I was and how adorable the planner is.
This book is worth every penny!
a good planer at a good price June 8, 2008 This planner is a good size for taking along on shopping/planning trips, it is well laid out and has some good planning tools for todays bride. I wish the pockets were sturdier (putting some clear tape at the bottom of the pockets has done the trick) and a just a bit wider, otherwise it would have been 5 stars.
a fresh outlook on wedding planning, but best purchased with its companion book May 11, 2008 I bought this book during a panic-induced wedding planning spree shortly after I got engaged. It's a basic listing planner, and the mini pocket folders in the book are indeed useful. It's best utilized as your real-life companion to everything you enter into The Knot website (which is also useful, but doesn't reaffirm my need to not have a huge expensive wedding the way this book does), durable, and compact enough to pack in a shoulder bag. Although it does work as a stand-alone item, I found it helpful to buy the "Anti-Bride Guide" as well. It reduced my anxiety level significantly, and I highly recommend it to anyone who prefers the idea of a meaningful but unconventional wedding.
Decent book- not what I would expect from the title January 28, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I recieved this book as a present from my MOH. The title is a little misleading. This book is more for women who want to be brides- just not the normal cookie cutter bride- not for women who do not want to be brides at all.
My MOH thought I would like it because my fiance is the one who wants the wedding and I do not. I have found some good tips in hte book, but it caters to woman who want a wedding.
