Amazon.com Review This is the book that launched an empire. Martha Stewart's Entertaining was the world's first exposure to the doyenne of domestication. Entertaining offers recipes and menus for a number of different parties, including wedding receptions, afternoon teas, and a sumptuous Christmas dessert buffet. The book is lavishly illustrated, and much attention is paid to the dishes' presentation as well as their preparation. Gotta have it! July 13, 2008 This book is a must for entertaining ideas and recipes. It covers a wide variety of occasions and is very comprehensive. It's still timely and relevant.
My 18 year old copy is still an inspiration! June 3, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This is NOT A COOKBOOK! This book is more a guide to throwing a great party that includes recipes as a bonus. The guide to setting up a bar alone makes it worth having. There are so many excellent ideas in here, beautiful photos, an emphasis on presentation and beautiful food....that never goes out of style.
Christmas "Downunder" goes all out with Martha this year February 18, 2008 My sister and I made a pact that this year was going to see 'Summer on the deck" this Christmas was done in style. A chance encounter of a lifestyle show celebrating the anniversary of this marvellous book on TV paved the way for us to embark on a "mission" to "Entertain as never before". The recipes, suggestions of menus and the details provided to create an atmosphere of celebration are incredible, sensible and motivating. Even though the weather will be toasty and warm during this holiday season in December, the options provided in this book will transform our day.
Takes the Think out of planning a party February 9, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I love her book because she thought of everything so you don't have to reinvent the wheel. She has menus for parties of 25 and 50 guests so you know how much and step by step instructions on how to organize it, cook it and present it. Great book if you entertain and want an easy process!
Book good service slow February 8, 2008 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
Book is good my wife likes it. (Martha Fan) However I paid for fast delivery and it took a week to get the book! I missed my wifes birthday because of slow delivery.
