I WILL LOVE YOU COME WHATEVER! October 7, 2008 This is a refreshing and beautiful book. It has wonderful tips for anyone planning their special day. However, the tips are few and far between. To me this book is more of a pictorial journey of two beautiful singers planning their special day. If you are fans of Jessica Simpson, Nick Lachey, and Ashlee Simpson you will L.O.V.E this book. It has gorgeous and romantic pictures. In my opinion you can use it to inspire you but not as a step-by-step planning guide. It is bittersweet to read the book especially when you read about Jessica Simpson giving Nick Lachey a framed copy of a letter she wrote for her "prince". You really get a sense of how deep their love was for one another and how full of promise their wedded life seemed. The book with the DVD really does not add anything. The DVD has about 15 minutes of footage from their wedding day. I guess you could say the DVD helps to bring some of the pictures to life but for someone hoping it has step-by-step instructions (or the full wedding ceremony) it does not. In seeing what a beautiful and undoubtedly magical day the wedding was I can see how hard it must have been for Ms. Simpson (and Mr. Lachey)to move on. You have a wedding like that when you plan for the marriage to be forever. It is truly a shame that they could not make the marriage work. Read the book to get some fun tips for a great wedding day and to see how special Jessica Ann Simpson and Nick Scott Lachey's day was six years ago.
Beautiful. July 19, 2008 Even though I should have thrown a few extra bucks the the dvd to be included the book is like my little pet (is that sad?) the pictures are beautiful and some of the advice is pretty good. Even though it has all ended for the two of them they were lucky to have such a beautiful wedding.
I actually learned something from this book. June 23, 2008 I bought this book in 04 in the midst of wedding planning. Very simple and a beautiful book. Not too much text but enough to be helpful. She actually goes into details on several good topics one of which was how to prioritize. For example she wanted real flowers so she spent a lot on them but saved by getting cheaper food. I found this helpful. Eventhough I spend way less on my wedding I found things like this through out the book that were helpful even if you weren't having a million dollar wedding. Just good stuff to know to help plan a wonderful wedding no matter how much you spend.
Future Camp Classic? December 24, 2007 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Not to jump the gun, but I recently came across this book and I believe it has potential to become a camp classic along the lines of Joan Crawford's "My Way of Life," Diana Ross's "Secrets of a Sparrow," and "Jim and Tammy Bakker present the Ministries of Heritage Village Church" (maybe it's not too early to add Star Jones Reynolds's "Shine" to this list, either). In other words - misguided attempts by the rich and famous to show off their "fabulous" lives, while still purporting to be "just like anybody else." "I Do" seems designed to help you to NOT have a wedding like Jessica Simpson's - *don't* order $30,000 worth of pale pink roses that have to be shipped in from Tanzania (or wherever), *don't* concern yourself with designing your own gazillion-dollar Vera Wang wedding gown - as Wang informs us in the book, "there's often sales - I've seen $10,000 gowns go for as low as $700!" Indeed.
If you salivate at the alter of the celebrity, this book is for you. If you can appreciate a good joke, this book is for you, too.
Jessica's Simpson Fan March 21, 2007 I'm from Mexico and I it was very difficult for me to find this book in San Antonio. When I found it, I really liked it. Not only for the tips she wrote, but also for the pictures. I recommend it if you are a Jessica's Simpson fan.
