Product Description
In this much-needed guide, veteran bridal author Leah Ingram tackles an often-neglected aspect of being engaged: the bride's mental, spiritual, and physical health. Breaking down the topic into these three main areas, Ingram offers her own advice as a wedding-planning expert, as well as sound wisdom from medical doctors and nutritionists, psychologists and counselors, diverse spiritual leaders and from many Balanced Brides themselves. The Balanced Bride will help every bride truly enjoy her engagement and her wedding and lay the groundwork for a strong and lasting marriage.

Original take on wedding planning November 15, 2003 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
The months leading up to a wedding are not only exhilarating, they're often anxiety-inducing. It's a shame when the logistics take precedence over all else, so that the bride is often the least likely to enjoy the occasion. This book aims to counter that trend by offering numerous suggestions for achieving balance before, during, and after the big day. While the first part of the book covers health issues and birth control options, the rest of the book tackles issues rarely touched on in wedding planning tomes: changing identity, extended family feuds, how to integrate your work and your friends into your new married life, stepparenting, balancing two religions under one roof, and making your marriage stronger. Interspersed throughout are "Wedding Wisdom" quotes from brides. Could there be a better bridal shower gift?
