Kids Party Cookbook December 23, 2008 When my son was three, I decided to make a train cake for his birthday. I worked for hours on it, and it turned out pretty good, but if I'd had this book, oh the train cake I could have made! How about a cake that looks like a MP3 or a hamburger with fries? There are recipes, explicit decorating instructions, ideas on transporting goodies, templates, even conversion tables, a long list of resources, and an index. If you've ever wanted to learn to make fondant, you'll learn how with this book. Before your next party, this is the book you need.
spectacular layout December 21, 2008 The best creation of instruction and images to match. Anyone who ever wanted to try to make a scuiptered can do it with this book.
Delicious... December 18, 2008 Confetti Cakes For Kids Elisa Strauss, Christie Matheson Little, Brown and Company, 2008 ISBN: 9780316118293 Reviewed by Debra Gaynor for ReviewYourBook.com, 12/08 4 stars Delicious... This delightful book has 7 categories including: cake basics, recipes, techniques, and cookies. Elisa Strauss and Christie Matheson begin their book by covering the basics. They discuss equipment and terms. The section on techniques is written in simple terms. The skill level for this book varies from project to project. My only complaint is the binding. I wish publishers would realize that cookbooks need a spiral binding. It is very difficult to read a recipe while mixing if the book will not stay open. This is the reason that this book is not getting a "5". My favorite project was the fish. They are cute and sure to please most children. The spring mini cakes are beautiful. This would make a nice gift for the baker in your life.
disappointment December 18, 2008 This book was a total disapointment ! The ideas are more or less the same ones as saw on Elisa's first book. I was expecting more !
great gift idea! December 11, 2008 Confetti Cakes for Kids is a wonderful gift idea! Such a beautiful book. Grownups will enjoy creating delicious and beautiful treats with the children in their lives. I can't wait to bake with my nieces and nephews!
