Product Description Announcing the wedding bible: the most complete, lively, handholding, step-by-step guide to help every couple have a perfect wedding—no matter their budget, taste, or personalities. More than 2.2 million North American couples tie the knot each year; until now, only a mere fraction could work with celebrity wedding planner Mindy Weiss. But the significant fact is not Ms. Weiss's clientele, but the reason for it: She's so very good at what she does. And now she shares all of her hard-won experience, wisdom, inspiration, and style tips. The Wedding Book covers everything, in a voice filled with understanding: announcing the engagement, and what to do when someone isn't happy about the news; creating a budget; the pros and cons of destination weddings. Drawing up the guest list; planning the ceremony (and how to personalize your vows); menus to inspire; contracts and wedding insurance. Shopping for the dress, six great hairstyles, tuxedo vs. dinner jacket, the etiquette of invitations. Style tips for flowers, the tabletop, linens; a cake that says "you"; the crucial "Sixty Days Until I Do"; rehearsal dinner strategies; plus freezing the cake and preserving the bouquet. Today the average cost of a wedding is $25,000—at $19.95, The Wedding Book is the smartest investment a bride-to-be could make.

BUY THIS BOOK! November 21, 2008 I'm planning a high-end wedding in Pittsburgh, and this book was amazingly helpful. The checklists, illustrations, and the advice are amazingly hard-to-find in other books, and I've read hundreds of wedding books & magazines at this point. The sample menus and timelimes were INSANELY helpful. My only problems were that the author didn't write alot about the more unique things you see at weddings these days, and she didn't mention anything about what to do when you have to deal with the a vendor you aren't particularly fond of. (Such as our catering director...) I would recommend buying this book along with a wedding etiquette book because there isn't much about etiquette in this book, and what she does write is mostly with an uber-modern attitude that just doesn't work when you're planning a Black Tie Optional, Black Tie, or White Tie wedding. Emily Post's Wedding Etiquette, 5e (Emily Post's Wedding Etiquette)
Say I Do it Right the first time with Mindy Weiss October 6, 2008 Beverly Hills maestro of weddings shares her style and approach for making a dream wedding come to life. This is one of the best books on the market for anyone anywhere who wants to make their special day magical. Mindy Weiss is a highly respected celebrity wedding planner and this book is packed with wisdom. It made a perfect gift for a friend of mine who got married and wanted to plan it herself but make it a day to remember.
If You Or Someone You Know Are, Will Be Or May One Day Get Married... BUY THIS BOOK! August 22, 2008 3 out of 4 found this review helpful
Take a look at the reviews: 10 out of 10 reviewers give this book 5 stars. That's 100% satisfaction and a "perfect score."
I have nearly every wedding related book, guide and planner from Emily Post's Wedding Etiquette to Martha Stewart's Keepsake Wedding Planner, Real Simple Weddings, The Bridesmaid Guide, Emily Post's Planner and a few other, lesser quality products, a slew of online tools and of course every wedding-related magazine I can get my hands on - what can I say, I'm obsessed - but I really wish I would have waited for this book because IT HAS IT ALL AND MORE.
Just as much etiquette as Emily Post, just as much planning as Martha Stewart and most importantly detailed drawings and instructions on how to dress the men in every style, from tie to shoes, as well as the niftiest: a minute-by-minute countdown of the final days. Yes, a sample wedding schedule from rehearsal dinner to honeymoon. In fact not one but two sample schedules.
I know this sounds like an infomercial but it really is too good to be true, but it's true!
This book is a must for anyone involved in a wedding in any way. It's beautiful, well written and most importantly, expertly organized. You can start in the beginning (if you've just become engaged - congratulations) and you can read through as you need to. Or you can use the wonderfully detailed table of contents to navigate topically.
This book is a life-saver. I will be ordering more copies for those involved in my wedding and giving it as a gift for any friends that become engaged. This books is PRICELESS.
BUY IT!
Share this book with a bride-to-be! August 6, 2008 This is my new favorite engagement gift to give. All of the brides-to-be that I have given it to have LOVED it and say they can't put it down! What an amazing resource to help with every aspect of planning the perfect wedding. Mindy's flair and creativity make it fun to read, with all of her wonderful suggestions taken from her endless experience as a top wedding coordinator. I love that she emphasizes that each event should reflect the individual bride and groom so that they feel it's really THEIR Big Day!
very, very helpful June 20, 2008 this book won't give you the specifics on how to personalize your wedding, but it's a comprehensive, start-to-finish, practical guide that has been invaluable for taking the complex, overwhelming (and slightly insane) process and helping you think about it in manageable chunks.
