Product Description This long-standing tradition was continued by writer-traveller Bruce Chatwin who used to buy his moleskines at an old Paris stationery shop in Rue de l'Ancienne Comedie where he would always stock up before embarking on one of his journeys. Over the years he had developed a veritable ritual. Before using them he would in fact number the pages, writing on the inside his name and at least two addresses across the world, and a message promising a reward for anyone finding and returning the notebook in case of it being lost. He even suggested this method to his friend Luis Sepulveda, when he gave him a precious moleskine as a present for a journey they were planning to undertake together in Patagonia. And there was no doubt as to how precious it was, given that at the time even the last moleskine manufacturer, a small family-run firm of Tours, had discontinued production in 1986. 'Le vrai moleskine n'est plus' was the short and curt statement of the owner of the stationery shop where Chatwin had ordered one hundred before leaving for Australia. Despite having literally swept up all the Moleskines he could find, they were not enough. Now, the moleskine is back again. This silent and discreet keeper of an extraordinary tradition, which has been missing for years, has set out again on its journey. A witness to contemporary nomadism, it can once again pass from one pocket to another to continue the adventure. The sequel still waits to be written and its blank pages are ready to tell the story.

Moleskine 2008 18-Month Planner July 25, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I own several quality moleskine products. My favorites are the pocket-sized lined notebooks. The 2008-2009 18-Month day planner is another example of the highest quality materials put out by Moleskine. Though it covers 18 months, it is still small enough to fit in a pocket. The planner contains loads of additional useful travel information much like the travel guides from Moleskine. It's also got the Moleskine pocket in the back cover and several stickers to highlight important events. In the modern electronic age, I still find this product more useful than a PDA and will purchase one for 2010!
Moleskine makes another excellent product February 18, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I have been searching for the perfect daily planner, one that is a little smaller than most, but I can still put in a ton of information. This planner does it all! If you're familiar with Moleskine, it has the same inner pocket and stretch cord closure, as well as the woven bookmark that's sewn into the binding and the wonderful leather-like feel of the cover. The color is very vibrant, just the right shade of bold red. This planner not only has your daily, weekly/monthly, and monthly/yearly calendars, but also a measures and conversions chart, traveling distances chart (worldwide), travel diary, time zone map, international holidays chart, international clothing size conversion chart, and a page with a ruler printed! I don't think I could design a better planner, I feel that this one fits so well. The ONLY downside I can see is that even though it has a 2008 and 2009 monthly and yearly calendar view, the daily planner only goes up through December 31, 2008. That just means as soon as they start releasing the 2009 versions, I'll have to be quick and order one so that I'm ready for the new year and any of the appointments that may come with it. Overall, I give it five stars because it does everything I could hope for in a classic pen-and-paper planner, and it looks stylish and chic while doing it. I love the feel and look of it so much, I make sure to "have a reason" to bring it out in front of everyone!

It was everything I dreamed of in a pocket diary January 1, 2008 1 out of 3 found this review helpful
Well, maybe not. But it's very, very good and a classic all in the same package.
Nice Little Red Book December 14, 2007 9 out of 10 found this review helpful
I do like these moleskin calendar books. It gives you a full page per day. I like that because a lot of calendars give you an inch a day which is not nearly enough. Last year I bought the larger version and it was good. This year I bought the smaller version by mistake, but decided not to return it because although the pages are smaller, it is still a page a day, not so heavy and I can easily put it in my pocketbook. This is much nicer than squinting at some small print on a small electronical device which you will probably drop and break anyway. And you can see everything at once. I like it.
