Great gift ideas. Good for a beginner! December 29, 2008 This book has a variety of cute and simple sewing ideas. Most of the projects are very functional and could be made for yourself or as a gift. They are everyday objects for use or organization. The instructions are pretty clear and it does include diagrams which are helpful, though they are hand-drawn.
This is comparable to Amy Butler's In-Stiches. Some of the projects are very similar. Both good books. Organized almost identically. Lotta Jansdotter's projects are completed in more subtle fabrics, but they could be easily jazzed up by your fabric choice. Some of Lotta's projects also feature optional embroidery or appliques.
I am a beginner, and I have been able to complete projects from this book and have been pleased with the results.
Lovely. August 18, 2008 I first saw this book at a fabric store I worked at in the area. I was immediately drawn to the originality of it, and the beautiful fabrics she used in the book. It wasn't until later that I saw it on here. It is a great bargain for what it is. It can sit flat on your sewing table or the floor as you work, and the instructions are concise as simple.
This book would be a beautiful addition to any sewing room.
I love this book! July 2, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
My friend Chassity and I got this book to teach ourselves how to sew and absolutely love it! The projects are modern, simple, useful, and well designed. I haven't had any trouble deciphering instructions and I'm loving the finished items. My favorite project so far has been the All Day Tote, I'm on my third one! These projects make great gifts too!
Crafty, modern and cool. June 16, 2008 I love this book. I've made 2 of the tote bags multiple times and the yoga bag. Everything I make in this book comes out looking very cool. The instructions are well written and easy to follow. Most things don't have patterns and use measurements instead which keeps it simple. Lotta's designs are creative, functional and crafty.
Muy recomendable June 9, 2008 Lotta Jansdotter's Simple Sewing: Patterns and How-To for 24 Fresh and Easy Projects
