Great book September 30, 2008 I bought this book after I'd taken it out from the library along with a bunch of other wedding books. This one was the only one that I knew I could use when it got around to handing out the money for my wedding. The checklists for each type of vendor is the most helpful- I haven't seen any other book that has this. These include good questions to ask vendors before you sign contracts with them. Concise and definitely beneficial! Go to their website too- it's just as thorough!
Take it or Leave it... September 19, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
In my opinion, it isn't worth paying for this book--all the same information is available, for free, at their website. I bought a ton of wedding books--and never used them becaue I had all I needed online for free. If you aren't a computer-y person, then go for it...but if you know how to browse websites, save your money for the centerpieces, photography, or other wedding detail.
Great resource for planning a wedding February 13, 2008 This book is great! Of course it comes from the most trusted resource in wedding information, but that doesn't always mean something. It does in this case. I have been picking it up constantly since I got it in the mail. I was a little surprised the first time I picked it up because it is in black and white, but they really give you a ton of information that somehow isn't diminished by the lack of color. Anything that they describe usually has a drawing or diagram, or even a black and white photo. I have read a few other planning books and this one definitely takes the cake :). I would definitely recommend using this one as a resource, and I'll probably pass it on to my sister when she gets engaged.
Very Helpful August 24, 2007 This was an extremely helpful book and it's not bulky. I definitely recommend it.
Some Good Advice, Mostly Hype May 25, 2007 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
When my fiancee and I first started planning our wedding, we heard about this book and purchased a copy because of its popularity and mention in magazines and elsewhere. While there is some good advice, it's not the must-have some people say and it's heavily tied into the web site too, which is just more of a time drain. I think much of the material could be condensed into fewer pages and more focused advice. You won't regret buying it, but nor will it make your planning much easier IMO.
