Product Description GENERAL FEATURES: Rhinoceros Tap by Workman Publishing Co. contains 15 Seriously Silly Songs. Before there was Philadelphia Chickens, the #1 New York Times and Publishers Weekly children's bestseller with 319,000 copies in print, there was Rhinoceros Tap, the collection of seriously silly songs. Now Rhinoceros Tap returns in an all-new package to mirror Philadephia Chickens, with a spiffy audio CD. Written and illustrated by Sandra Boynton and with music by Boynton and Michael Ford, the same team that created Philadelphia Chickens, it's a read-along, sing-along, dance-along, oink-along collection of truly delightful children's music. There's "O, Lonely Peas," to appeal to the finicky young eater. The five-year-old's lament, "Bad Babies" ("They whine and they bite, they chew on your toys/And oh, do they make the most terrible noise"). "Tickle Time." "The Crabby Song." A mouse's impassioned ballad to his beloved, "I Love You More Than Cheese." And "Barnyard Dance," the song that was launched by the board book dear to the hearts of more than a million young readers. This book contains 64 pages by Sandra Boynton, Michael Ford and Sandra Boynton; Illustrated by Sandra Boynton and a CD performed by (orchestra, band, ensemble) Adam Bryant. For children of all ages.

Warning: The Song about "Bad babies" is generally misinterpreted by small children January 5, 2009 The song entitled "Bad Babies" is not easily understood as a joke by small children. Being generally very literal, small kids will think this is a song about how bad babies are. This is in my view a real problem. I ordered this item for my preschooler but I won't play it for him now that I've listened to it.
I found no such problems with either "dog train" or "Philadelphia chickens", both of which are excellent, and so much fun!
Fun and witty! December 16, 2008 My kids loved this from the first playing. Every song is a different style, and very fun to hear--both for kids and adults. The only song that I find long and annoying is the turkey love song, but the rest are very charming.
Ok, not as good as Philadelphia Chickens! December 2, 2008 This book and CD was not as good as I hoped. I did buy it for my toddler son, however, so maybe it had more to do with him not getting into the music as much as I thought he would. The book is very cute, though, and I'm sure there are many kids out there who love it! As always, the songs are very creative.
Calming for Autistic Grandsons June 30, 2008 We have two Autistic grandsons, 2.5 years and 5.5 years old. They love this book and music so much we had to buy a second copy so they would not fight over the book. The older boy likes to follow the lyrics in the book while the CD is playing and has memorized many of the songs. The younger one likes the pictures.
The CD is especially helpful in the car. We get stuck in traffic driving from daycare to therapy and the trip sometimes takes an hour. The CD smoothes everything out for the boys.
And, we, the grandparents, like the music so well that we sing along.
We have bought two other music books by Boynton and Ford. We like them but "Tap" is still the winner!
Excellent! June 1, 2008 My daughters, 4 and 6, love this cd. My 4 year old is not big on reading despite out efforts! I love products like this that incorporate flipping through a book with audio to keep her engaged. YAY!!!
