destination: a new outlook on life March 19, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This was a great read. The book is as much about boldly creating personal change as it is about escaping our comfort zones. It's not another over-romanticized travel guide for 20-somethings. It is deeply grounded in reality, was written for everyone from business owners to parents, and provides a step-by-step plan for getting its readers on sabbatical.
A great read that reaffirms the important stuff February 15, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Escape 101 is a book that dismantles all the roadblocks to finally taking that sabbatical, with a special emphasis on the biggest one: changing the "there is no way I could pull it off" attitude. I managed to get my life and business partner to slow down long enough to read the section on how small business owners can escape, too (and with children). It definitely opened his mind to the possibility. With any luck, I'll get him to read the other chapters and maybe we can start planning!
Escaping the Rat Race! Thanks Dan and Tara!! January 6, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
A sincere thank you to the authors of this text. My wife and I have been contemplating "How to take a career break" without sacrificing the hard work we put into building my medical practice -this wonderful book showed us 'how'! Well written, creative and thoughtful -the strategies were easy to implement. I read this book on the way to a seminar 3 months ago, and here we are enjoying week 4 of our 12 week sabbatical. Next year -with the strategies we learned -the sky is the limit!! Thanks again to the authors!
