Fine as a first time lightweight review of a PMBOK chapter, but not at all close to the real PMP exam questions December 20, 2008 I found the questions in this book to be way easier than questions from other study books and preparation tests, and quite far from the situational questions that you get on the real PMP exam.
I would say that as a very lightweight first time review (through a set of questions) for a particular chapter of the PMBOK, this books is fine, but is far from what you'll get in reality on the PMP exam. I used it like that and got almost all the questions right. Just make sure you don't get fooled by that and that you are ready for the exam if you get that.
I found quite detrimental that the questions were organized by chapters and not mixed up as a single 200 question set as you get them on the exam. I guess the purpose of the book is not to be a PMP exam test example, just a bunch of Q&As, so just be aware of this.
not good for preparing for PMP exam, try something else October 9, 2008 this book is very confusing and hard to understand. It is written from a scientific point of view. I used an exam simulation program at pmsimulation.com and passed the PMP exam. This worked so much better than studying from a book.
Excellent resource to reinforce PMI Knowledgebase April 17, 2008 This book provides some excellent Project Management questions with detailed explanation of the right AND wrong answers following PMBOK book. This material will help reinforce the right PMI methodology and best practices.
This book is a valuable tool for preparing for the PMP exam. While the actual questions are atypical of the actual PMP Certification Exam, this book provides a great opportunity to reinforce learnings from the PMI's PMBOK Guide. The book is set up and laid out by each corresponding chapter making in it easy to navigate and use as a reference later for exam preparation.
you wont regret it November 21, 2007 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
Just buy it - you wont regret it. :)
It's full of multiple choice questions. I use it as a summary, self assessment tool in conjunction with my PMBoK.
Execellent Resource July 8, 2007 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
This is an excellent resource that will help you understand and review several concepts in the PMBOK Guide. The only problem is that the answers provide quotes from the PMBOK Guide and no explanations. The questions are simplistic: may be good for the CAPM exam, but not for the PMP exam. To prepare for the PMP Exam, I used the PMP Exam Quicklet by Paul Sanghera, which contains very realistic questions.
