Amazon.com Review Book lovers like nothing better than to curl up with a good hardback. But that experience was even more enjoyable back in the days when books came bound in vellum. One way to re-create that time is to slip your latest hardcover volume into this cloth book jacket. Brightly colored leaves adorn the stitched front of this extra-large zippered tote from Book Gear. Sturdy, tightly woven black nylon provides protection from inclement weather and wear and tear. The book cover also includes a carrying handle on the spine, pockets for notes or highlighter pens, and a built-in bookmark. The size is especially appropriate for new releases, Bibles, or the dictionary that Scrabble lovers like to keep close at hand. --Brenda Pittsley

The Best thing you could ever possibly buy for a book lover! November 13, 1999 33 out of 33 found this review helpful
A few years back we stumbled upon the Gregg bookcovers at a bookstore at the Orlando Airport. After buying two hardcover versions and one paperback version we realized we had stumbled on the world's best book-cover. Friends and book borrowers asked where we got them and then placed orders on our subsequent trips to Orlando. Sadly, on our last trip, when we were set to stock up again, they were gone from the store. We have searched high and low in every store for these covers, but to no avail. NOW AMAZON HAS THEM! These suckers are sturdy, well designed, and well-made. The hardcover version fits most every size (even a Tom Clancy tome). Thick paperbacks may be a bit "stuffed" into the paperback version. The tapestry versions are beautiful, but with ours, there is a bit of fraying on the threads which get caught up in the zippers. (Perhaps this doesn't occur in the updated versions) The plain canvas types don't seem to have that problem. The covers have a full zipper around the entire book that keeps the book safe and snug and a sturdy handle strap. Unlike cheap versions, when you open the zipper, the book can be fully opened without hindrance because it is flexible. We lend our books out with these covers on and our books come back safe and sound. No hardcover of ours goes to the cottage or the beach without being snugly wrapped in a Gregg bookcover. We now know what we're putting on our shopping list at Christmas time!
